LOKAH SAMASTAH SUKHINO BHAVANTU
This Sanskrit mantra, sometimes chanted at the beginning or end of a yoga class, has special resonance at times of global uncertainty. Sanskrit words can have multiple meanings, but the mantra is often interpreted thus:
“May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and freedom for all.”
The mantra reminds us that no one is an island, that our words and actions have ripple effects, and that we have a responsibility to positively shape our world.
We’ll discuss this and other mantras at our mala-making workshop this Monday. Malas like the pink beauties pictured above are meditation tools that double as stylish accessories. It's not too late to reserve a spot in this hands-on workshop. Enter code BEADIT at checkout to save 20 percent!
